Gold Medal for Rectoral do Umia in Baco Awards
Rectoral do Umia boasts among the favorites of the Spanish Union of Tasters after winning the Baco de Oro in the 34th edition of the great event with the country’s young wines. The 100% albariño and emblem of the Bodegas Gallegas group thus triumphed on June 29 among the members of a tasting panel made up of some of the most prominent personalities in the sector The secret of its elaboration is the meticulous care in the selection of the raw material of the vines of more than 30 years and derived from 130 hectares of vineyards located in the Valley of O Salnés, Condado and Ulla. In addition, it has the collaboration of more than 200 winegrowers in the area who have professionalized their work in recent years, collaborating closely with the winery in the various controls that are carried out throughout the year in the select vineyards. The Rectoral do Umia winery, belonging to the Bodegas Gallegas family group with more than 50 years of experience in the sector, has been making Albariños with great personality and uniqueness for more than a decade. It has a capacity for 3,600,000 liters and has 6,600 m2 of built area. Both Bodegas Rectoral do Umia and Bodegas Milenium and Bodega Alanís are certified in food safety and quality with the highest rating from BRC (British Retail Constorium) and IFS (International Food Standard).
